Meet the World’s First Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Smartphone

Meet the Worlds First Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Smartphone
The first smartphones to feature Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, including Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro, followed by OnePlus 13 and iQOO.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is set to launch in October as Qualcomm’s latest top-tier mobile chipset. You might be curious about which smartphones will be among the first to feature this advanced processor.

A new leak from a typically reliable source suggests that Xiaomi has secured an exclusive deal with the chip maker to be the first to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. As a result, the first two devices equipped with this new SoC will be the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro.

Other Phones Set to First Release the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Chip

Following the release of the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro, the OnePlus 13 and the iQOO 13 may also be next in line to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. Although the exact release order may vary compared to last year, these brands are historically some of the first to adopt new Snapdragon technology. For instance, the OnePlus 12, iQOO 12, Xiaomi 14, and Xiaomi 14 Pro were among the first devices to incorporate the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 when they launched in China.

Gizchina News of the week

The global releases for the Xiaomi 15, OnePlus 13, and iQOO 13 are likely to follow a few weeks after their initial launch in China, as has been the tradition with these brands. It’s important to note that the Xiaomi 14 Pro never saw a global release, so there’s a possibility that its successor, potentially the Xiaomi 15 Pro, might also limit itself to China or select markets. This pattern suggests that while these devices will debut with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, availability might vary significantly depending on the region.
