The passing of South Korean actress Kim Sae-ron at the age of 24 has left the Korean entertainment industry and her fans in mourning. he 24-year-old was found dead at her residence in Seongsu-dong, Seongdong-gu, on February 16. Authorities have ruled the case a suicide, with no signs of foul play.

Following her death, Kim’s father claimed that online content had contributed to her distress. In a statement at her funeral, he alleged that a YouTuber had posted videos criticising the actress, including one regarding wedding-themed photos she had shared online. The video’s title reportedly suggested that she had gone into hiding after marriage rumors. The same individual had also posted content questioning her financial situation and sincerity. The video in question has since been removed, and Kim’s family is said to be considering legal action.

Kim Sae-ron had been in the public eye from a young age, known for roles in films such as A Brand New Life and The Man From Nowhere. However, her career faced setbacks following a 2022 DUI incident, which led to public criticism.

In 2022, she crashed her car into a guardrail and a transformer and was found guilty of driving under the influence. The incident cut off electricity to 57 stores in the area for nearly three hours, Yonhap reported. She was later sentenced to a fine of 20 million won, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Her funeral was attended by family, colleagues, and friends, including her The Man From Nowhere co-star Won Bin. The actor, who has largely stayed out of the public spotlight, paid his respects before leaving quietly. Actresses Kim Bo Ra and Han So Hee were also among those present.

Kim began her career as a child actress and was recognized for her performances in films and television dramas, including Bloodhounds, Secret Healer, and Nobody Knows.
