Real Madrid vs. Man City result: Benzema the remontada hero again as Champions League final spot clinched

Real Madrid staged an incredible comeback against Manchester City to make it through to the Champions League final, where they will face Liverpool.

City, who had a 1-0 lead from the first leg, looked certain to reach the final after Riyad Mahrez's fine strike had put them in front on the night.

However, Madrid, as they have done throughout this Champions League campaign, somehow managed to make it to Paris with a dramatic late show.

Jack Grealish had two great chances but Los Blancos refused to give up and eventually caused problems for City. 

Madrid hadn't had a shot on target in 90 minutes, but substitute Rodrygo scored twice in as many minutes in stoppage-time to force an extra 30 minutes.

In extra-time, Madrid took the lead through a penalty from Karim Benzema, after Ruben Dias fouled the French striker in the area.

City's wait to win the Champions League goes on, but Carlo Ancelotti's men will now be looking to add to their vast collection of European trophies.

Full-time: Real Madrid 3-1 Manchester City (Real Madrid win 6-5 on aggregate): Real Madrid make it through to the Champions League final, something which seemed almost impossible in the closing stages of normal time. City took the lead on the night through Mahrez and a two-goal aggregate lead, but substitute Rodrygo netted twice in two minutes for Real. Benzema then scored a penalty early in extra-time. It's heartbreaking for City but it's Real who will face Liverpool in Paris.
