PSG vs Marseille live score updates commentary highlights from Le Classique in Ligue 1
PSG edged out a hard-fought, physical Le Classique victory as Kylian Mbappe's first-half penalty proved the difference at Parc des Princes.

Marseille gave PSG a tough, physical battle at Parc des Princes, battling for a Champions League place in the Ligue 1 table, but it was the Parisians that captured all three points in the capital on the heels of a narrow 2-1 victory.

The Olympiens have not won in Paris in 10 years, and that history rang true as a late equalizer by Wiliam Saliba was ruled out by VAR.

PSG went ahead early on its first chance of the match, with Neymar finding the back of the net with a stunning dinked finish. Marseille worked hard for an equalizer as defender Duje Caleta-Car cropped up on the doorstep to tap home after a Donnarumma mistake.

But PSG restored its lead just before halftime as Neymar drew a handball in the box that was given on a VAR review, and Kylian Mbappe buried the spot-kick. PSG looked the better side after the break, but began to show signs of fatigue as Marseille pulled out the big guns. The visitors thought they had another equalizer as Saliba tapped home on the end of a Payet free-kick, but replay showed he was just leaning offside on the delivery.

With the win, PSG moves 15 points clear at the top of the table with six matches remaining, while second-placed Marseille is now vulnerable with multiple teams on their heels in the Champions League hunt.

FULL-TIME: PSG 2-1 Marseille

The hosts were far from perfect, but it's a rivalry win in front of the home crowd.

The second-half was dicey, with a Marseille equalizer ruled out for offside by VAR, but PSG was able to hold on. The Parisians continue to make things difficult on themselves, but the three points puts them on the precipice of clinching another Ligue 1 title.

90+5 min: Marseille's build-up has been excellent over the last few minutes, and it's forcing PSG back deep. Sergio Ramos makes a block on a Guendouzi shot, then a wonderful pass through to Harit gets another opportunity but it's sent out for a corner. Marseille pushing hard for an equalizer.

91+2 min: What on earth is Gianluigi Donnarumma doing? He's way out on the left touchline in possession and gets himself into trouble, eventually booting the ball out off the advertising boards. He gets a yellow for time wasting, a booking that the referee allowed Neymar to get away with moments earlier.

89th min: Marco Verratti, on a yellow card, is withdrawn for dark arts master Sergio Ramos. The Spaniard played last time out to give Marquinhos a rest.

Neymar boots the ball away in frustration after a foul, and while he's on a yellow, the referee doesn't book the Brazilian which he's supposed to by law. Six minutes of added time, as PSG brings Mauro Icardi on for Kylian Mbappe, and the Frenchman comes off so slowly that he's booked for delay by the referee.

85th min: CHANCE, Marseille! Payet turns from free-kick finisher to creator, sending a delicate ball to the back post and William Saliba is there to poke it hope at the back post, somehow free of all defenders. Marseille is level!

VAR has a long look at this one, as Saliba may have had a head over the line...and he's off! A letoff for PSG, with Saliba just leaning on the delivery!

82nd min: Dimitri Payet is kicked by Marquinhos while on the ground, and after a spell of advantage being played, somehow Marquinhos isn't booked. Sampaoli is livid on the touchline. The refereeing continues to be inconsistent.

Moments later, Verratti commits a foul outside the top of the penalty area, and the referee correctly avoids to book the Italian in this instance. Lots of physicality towards the end of this one. Dangerous free-kick for Marseille, in Payet range...

80th min: Substitution for Mauricio Pochettino, as Gigi Wijnaldum comes on for the booked Idrissa Gueye. Marseille counters by bringing on Ahmadou Dieng for Pape Gueye.

76th min: CHANCE, PSG! Lionel Messi with a moment of brilliance to stay on the ball under heavy pressure, and he finds Mbappe who buries the ball into the back of the net, but it's pulled back for the offside flag. Replay shows its the right call, just.

Marseille makes a second change as Rongier comes off holding his hamstring, and Pol Lirola is his replacement.
