Park Sung Hoon, Who Plays Trans Woman In Squid Game 2 ...
Korean actor Park Sung Hoon, 39, best known for his roles as baddies in The Glory and Queen of Tears, and most recently, as a transgender woman aka Player 120 in the second season of Squid Game, has found himself in hot water.
Yesterday (Dec 30), he shared on Instagram Stories a pic that appeared to be the poster for a porn parody of Squid Game.
The poster features Japanese AV actresses dressed in bras underneath green track suits, like the ones seen in the show.
Sung Hoon deleted the post not long after. However, the damage was already done.
The deleted image was saved by some of his followers, and it quickly went viral.
Sung Hoon has received heavy criticism, with some saying he has “damaged his reputation”. Others believe his actions “might affect the reputation of the entire Squid Game cast”.
The incident also happened a day after the Jeju Air crash, just as Korea entered a seven-day national mourning period.
Fans urged Sung Hoon to address the situation, with many holding out hope that his IG account might have been hacked.
His agency, BH Entertainment, has since released a statement in response to the controversy.
They explained that Sung Hoon had “received the image via direct message” and had “accidentally posted it by mistakenly pressing the wrong button”.
They also added that the actor is equally “shocked by what had happened”.
“He is deeply sorry for making such a mistake in these circumstances and promises to be especially careful to ensure it doesn’t happen again,” they stated.
The actor has been praised for his acting in Squid Game 2, and his star is clearly on the rise.Only time will tell if he would have to bear long-term consequences of this blunder.
