MU Cabell Commitment Program announced
It will allow any Cabell County student with a grade point average of 2.5 or higher to automatically be accepted into Marshall University -- no application necessary.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - An educational partnership between Marshall University and Cabell County Schools is an extra incentive for Cabell County students to get good grades.

MU President Brad Smith and his wife Alys visited Huntington High on Tuesday morning to announce the new MU Cabell Commitment Program.

The program will allow any Cabell County student with a grade point average of 2.5 or higher to automatically be accepted into Marshall University -- no application necessary.

“This eliminates the barrier to access and with the Marshall for All Commitment for student loan debt. It will also make it affordable, so this will unleash their dreams and transform possibility into reality,” Brad Smith said.

Huntington High had 514 students qualify for the program.
