Three soldiers die in accident on North-South Expressway
ALOR SETAR: Three military personnel were killed in an accident involving four vehicles, including three military trucks, at KM77.5 of the North-South Expressway (NSE) northbound, near Gurun, on Friday (Feb 2).
Guar Chempedak Fire and Rescue station chief Asst Fire Supt Mohd Fauzi Razali, said that all three soldiers, aged 30 to 40 years old, were confirmed dead at the scene by officials from the Health Ministry.
"The fire station received an emergency call at 10.22am, and a team from Guar Chempedak, assisted by six firefighters from the Pendang station, were deployed to the scene of the incident.
The team found that there were four victims and four vehicles - three military trucks and a lorry - involved in the crash.

When the soldiers alighted from their trucks, a 31-year-old lorry driver lost control of his vehicle before it skidded and hit the victims,” he said, in a statement here Friday.
He said that the seriously injured lorry driver was sent to the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital for further treatment, while the remains of three soldiers were sent to the forensic unit of the same hospital for post-mortems. - Bernama
