Huawei releases new features for Watch D blood pressure smartwatch

Huawei has released an update for the Watch D wearable in China. The model, which features a blood pressure cuff-style band, went on sale in China in late 2021 before launching in Europe in October 2022. The watch is now receiving HarmonyOS 2.1.0.399, bringing users a range of new features.
These include an additional sleep mode for the Watch D, which turns off the raise-to-wake display. The alarm clock can automatically switch off for national holidays, and you can quickly open apps from a shortcut menu. Plus, there is a tool to switch on the screen when you receive a notification. Improvements include setting up to 10 alarms simultaneously and enhanced system stability. The interface is said to have been optimized in some places, though Huawei has not provided further details.
As with other Huawei Watch D smartwatch updates, users can manually check for the update in the watch’s settings or via the accompanying app. Whether or when the update could reach users in other markets, including Europe, remains to be seen. It is also unclear if this wearable will receive HarmonyOS 4.2. In other news, the newly released Huawei Watch 4 Pro is said to be launching in Europe.
