Genshin Impact: Everything Announced On 2.4 Livestream

Genshin Impact has a very strict six-week update cycle. Genshin Impact 2.4 release date is expected to be on January 5, 2022. For the past few updates, players have been dotted with content in Inazuma. This streak will continue in 2.4, where a new area, Enkanomiya, will be added. However, the next Version will also pull Travelers back to Liyue. Just like last year, it's time for the Lantern Rite Festival.

Lantern Rite is an important Chinese celebration, so it won't be surprising that this event will be held every year in Genshin Impact. Other than these two things, players can look forward to the following additions.

Genshin Impact 2.4 Live Stream Codes

As always, Special Program Announcement means Livestreamogems. Beware, though, the free Primogems codes are only available 12 hours after the live stream. So they are valid until December 26, 11:00 PM (UTC-5).

New Characters Banner: Shenhe And Yun Jin

A while after 2.3, Genshin Impact players are teased with the upcoming characters, Shenhe and Yun Jin. Thankfully, everything must've gone well in the Beta test, as both characters are coming in Version 2.4.

Re-run Characters Banner: Xiao, Ganyu, and Zhongli

Fans would've expected another dual re-run after Eula and Albedo's double banner in Genshin Impact 2.3. However, it's quite surprising to see that in Version 2.4, there will be three re-run characters instead of two. For the first banner, Xiao will be available alongside Shenhe. Meanwhile, in the second half, Ganyu and Zhongli will be available in a double re-run.

New Area: Enkanomiya

The name Enkanomiya wouldn't sound foreign for players who indulge themselves in the story. However, for those who may not know, this place exists below Watatsumi Island. People of ancient Watatsumi used to reside there before Orobashi lifted them to the surface.

New Enemies

Some new enemies will be available along with Enkanomiya:

1. Pyro Specter: Specters are a common sight around Inazuma. Pyro Specter isn't officially announced, but players can see it in one part of the live stream.
2. Bathysmal Vishaps: This monster is another version of Geovishap. They seem to have a lizard-like physique.
3. Pyro Abyss Herald: Previously, there's a Hydro and Electro version of this enemy. In Enkanomiya, players will see all three versions in the open-world.

New Boss: Bathysmal Vishaps Boss

This Genshin Impact boss will be available in Enkanomiya. They will be a Normal Boss, which means a character will require the boss's drop to ascend. As Shenhe and Yun Jin are the newest units, they're the most probable contenders for this requirement.

If Genshin Impact follows the same pattern with Itto and Gorou, then Shenhe is more likely to need the new boss's drop instead of Yun Jin.

New Weapon: Calamity Queller

While the stat isn't fully revealed yet, players can expect Calamity Queller to be the best-in-slot Polearm for Shenhe.

New Hangouts: Ningguang And Yun Jin

For players who love Ningguang, Genshin Impact 2.4 comes with a surprise. In the next version, fans can spend time with the Tianquan. Other than that, there will also be a new Hangout Event with the Opera Singer, Yun Jin.

New Events

Next, what's a new Version without filler events? In Genshin Impact 2.4, there are several events to look forward to:

1. Flameplume Starflowers
2. Wondrous Shadows
3. The Great Gathering
4. Windtrace
5. Oceanic Defender
6. A Study in Potions
7. Eight Locales Over Mountains and Seas

The first three are likely to be a part of the Lantern Rite, which is promised to be "more exciting than last year". However, what most players seem to be looking forward to is the Windtrace re-run. This hide-and-seek PvP event was a great success on its initial release, and fans are eager to see what fresh twists it will bring.

Prosperous Partnership

Similar to last year's Lantern Rite, in Genshin Impact 2.4, players can also get a free 4-star Liyue character of their choice. This will include the new unit, Yun Jin.

New Skins: Keqing And Ningguang

After Barbara and Jean's skin, the next "outfits" are available for Ningguang and Keqing. Just like last time, the 4-star skin is free, while the 5-star version is obtainable via the Shop.

May Fortune Find You

May Fortune Find You is a login event. In total, players will get 10 Intertwined Fates for logging in.

Quality Of Life Fixes

Lastly, there are some Quality of Life optimizations that'd be a great addition for Genshin Impact players.

1. Spiral Abyss: Now, players can check the current floor's enemies while choosing characters. Previously, people had to exit the Spiral Abyss then re-enter to see this information.
2. Map Shortcut: Since Inazuma is far from the other regions, there will be a Map Shortcut so players can jump between each region easily. No more scrolling for miles.
3. Shortcut Wheel: PC and PlayStation players can create a custom Wheel Shortcut to assist their gameplay based on their habits.
4. Serenitea Pot: There will be a "Batch" system, which allows players to assign several pieces of furniture into a single set. Other than that, Travelers can soon play a selected Genshin Impact music in the housing realm.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
