Now Bumrah takes the ball away from the right hander. Root is beaten fair and square. Terrific stuff. Still quite a bit of movement for Bumrah. 

Kuldeep pitches too full, a half-volley, and Crawley drives it past covers for four. Great contest this Kuldeep and England batters. 

A hint of reverse for Bumrah, bringing the ball into the right hander. First ball finished on the pads and pushed through midwicket for four. Then another inswinger and Root clips it fine for another four. 

Kuldeep bowling splendidly here. Varying his speeds nicely and getting the ball to turn just a little. Three runs from the over. 

Jasprit Bumrah from the other end. Indians have seen in the replays now that the catch in the last over was out. Now they are all laughing about it. Bumrah attacking stumps now. 

Kuldeep removed Ollie Pope on the third ball of his over. Joe Root is the new man in and he takes the single on the very first ball to get off the mark. A loud appeal by Indians for a catch at short leg against Crawley but umpire says not out. Discussions and Indians don’t review. That was a terrific catch by Sarfaraz but Indians don’t think, eventually, they should review this. 

Kuldeep with his fifth over. A single to cover for Crawley brings up England’s 100. WICKET!! Stumped!! Pope steps down and plays down the wrong line, misses it completely. Jurel does the rest behind the stumps.

Ashwin with his sixth over. A long conversation between the bowler and captain. Over pitched on the stumps, flicked through midwicket for a single. Six!! Crawley dances down and lofts Ashwin straight down the ground for a huge six!

Fifty for Crawley!! Drills an over-pitched delivery from Kuldeep straight down the ground to get to the landmark. Six runs from the over. 

A slight mix-up in the middle as Pope pushed one to cover. The fielder had to cover quite a bit of ground and so the batters survive. Excellent diving stop from Padikkal in deep midwicket to save a run for the team. Four!! Full, Crawley lofts it over the covers for a boundary. 

Kuldeep continues. On the stumps, Pope flicks it to deep mid wicket for a single. Appeal from Kuldeep for lbw. Looked very close. Joel Wilson says no and India take the review. Wickets missing says ball tracking and India loses its review. Crawley goes for the sweep and misses, stifled appeals. Four!! Not very full but Crawley punches it through the covers for four. 

Ashwin dangles it full to Pope. Prods forwards and defends it solidly. Steps down the pitch and punches it to long on for a single,

Ash again. A top edge as Crawley looks to pull a shortish ball, falls safely behind the keeper. Tight over from Ashwin, just a couple of singles. 

A single off Kuldeep’s over for Pope.

Kuldeep into the attack. Four!! Slightly wide to Crawley and a misfield from Ashwin at point hands a boundary to the batter. Four!! Short to Duckett this time, rocks back and punches it straight down the ground for four more. WICKET!! Full this time, Duckett looks to slog it out of the park, top edge goes right up and Gill completes a stunning catch going backwards.

Ashwin continues. Full on off stump to Duckett. Defended solidly. Slightly shorter second ball, Duckett rocks back and drives to mid on. Short again, cut away to deep point. Crawley steps down and almost tucks one straight to short leg, fine enough to beat the man eventually. 

Siraj with his eighth. Slightly fuller to Duckett, prods forward and defends. Just a single from the over. 

Ashwin into the attack. Four!! Duckett paddles the second ball of the over behind to the boundary to bring up fifty for England. 

Siraj continues. Short of a length outside off, Crawley moves his bat out of the way. Siraj has been slightly short in this spell. Though he’s getting some movement, he’s not inducing the batter into a drive. Siraj goes short on the last ball. Thuds into Crawley’s shoulder as he looked to pull.

Bumrah with his seventh over. Four!! Streaky boundary for Duckett! Opened up by Bumrah’s movement as he looked to defend, flies in the gap between the cordon. Drinks

Siraj bowls full and Crawley crunches the drive on the front foot towards cover. That sound of the bat. A loud appeal for LBW by India against Crawley but umpire isn’t interested. Came back in sharply. India reviews. Wickets umpire’s call! Decision stays not out. 

Looks like Siraj is in some sort of discomfort. He’s holding his knees after he slipped while fielding. Bumrah closes the over with a beautiful away swinger from Duckett, beats him. 

It feels Indian seamers have been a touch shorter than usual - a bit defensive in terms of length. However, they continue challenge the outside edge. Crawley drives, beautifully, through the covers and gets a boundary. 

Now Crawley hits the ball on the up and gets a boundary towards cover point. Too much width on that ball. Now Crawley chips, just past Bumrah’s right hand, not in control but ends up taking a double. Another leading edge! Just past mid-off and another double. 

Duckett cuts Siraj from the middle stump and takes a double. Terrific shot. Duckett looking to free his arms but isn’t able to put bat on the ball. He’s taking the bait. 

Bumrah continues to bowl on the fifth stump to Crawley, challenging the outside edge. Crawley has been patient enough to let go and not fool around with these deliveries. WOW! That moved away, completely squaring up Crawley and JUST over middle stump. No one knows how he survived that, including Crawley. Follows it up with a thickish outside edge and that goes for four. This has been a brilliant spell by Bumrah. 

Now Siraj gives too much width and Duckett smacks a cover drive for four! Just a boundary in that over. 

Another Jaffa! Bumrah to Duckett, beats the outside edge. Bumrah brings the ball into Duckett, a touch fuller, finishing on the pads and the left hander pushes it in the gap and runs three towards midwicket. Crawley is happy to leave the last ball alone. 

Ducket ALMOST chips to the catching mid on! Siraj brings the ball into the left hander and Duckett isn’t able to control his defence. A single on the fifth ball. Brilliant bowling here by India with good amount of movement on offer. 

Duckett faces his first ball of the match and it’s a JAFFA! Bumrah comes around the wicket to left hander and moves the ball away, just past the outside edge. A play and a miss. Duckett is once again squared up!! Spectacular bowling. Bumrah continues to challenge the outside edge. 

Mohammed Siraj from the other end. Two outswingers and Crawley patiently leaves them. And NOW he goes for the drive and gets beaten on the outside edge. On the fourth ball Crawley finally middles it quite well, drives on the up and gets a boundary. Siraj challenges the outside in the first over. 

Jasprit Bumrah is back and he will begin the proceedings. Begins with three balls on length, wide of off stump and Crawley doesn’t feeling putting bat to ball. And here comes the one that comes back in! Beats Crawley and hits on the thigh pad. Three runs on the last ball towards square leg.

Ravichandran Ashwin becomes the 14th Indian to get to the coveted milestone, a statistical nugget that was first scaled by Sunil Gavaskar back in the 1980s.

- Yashasvi Jaiswal 119 runs away from breaking Sunil Gavaskar’s record of scoring 774 runs in a Test series. 

- James Anderson two wickets away from 700 Test wickets 

- Jasprit Bumrah four wickets away from taking most wickets by a pacer in a Test series in India in 21st century. 

- Jaiswal 29 runs shy of scoring 1000 Test runs. He could be the fastest Indian to achieve this feat in nine matches. 

Nestled amidst a serene blanket of snow, the Dhauladhar range looms over the city of Dharamsala, casting a spell of awe and majesty.
