Duck
The inaugural Duck and Run event was recently held in Cornwall to show support for Ducks Unlimited Canada. Participants Kate Abrames, Charlie Booth-Lauzon, and Sally Booth crossed the five-kilometer finish line, marking the success of this initiative. Ducks Unlimited Canada is an organization dedicated to conserving wetlands and protecting waterfowl habitats.
This event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of preserving wetlands and the role they play in supporting ducks and other waterfowl. Wetlands provide critical habitats for these birds, offering food, shelter, and breeding grounds. By participating in the Duck and Run, individuals showed their commitment to the conservation efforts of Ducks Unlimited Canada.
Supporting organizations like Ducks Unlimited Canada is crucial for the long-term survival of ducks and other waterfowl. Wetlands face various threats, including habitat loss due to urbanization and pollution. Through events like the Duck and Run, we can contribute to the protection and restoration of these vital ecosystems, ensuring a future where ducks can thrive.
