Kim Saerons father blames YouTuber for death costar Won Bin
South Korean actor Kim Sae-ron's father spoke out at her funeral, held a day after her death, highlighting the emotional distress she suffered due to a YouTuber's videos.

South Korean actor Kim Sae-ron's family broke their silence at the actor's funeral, which was held on February 17, a day after she died. The actor's father claimed that Sae-ron suffered emotional distress due to videos shared by a YouTuber.

At her funeral, Kim Sae-ron’s father shared a statement, alleging that a particular YouTuber had contributed to his daughter’s emotional distress. He referenced a video in which the YouTuber, identified as Lee Jin-ho, criticised Kim Sae-ron for sharing wedding-themed photographs on social media. The video, titled "Kim Sae Ron’s self-deletion again... Gone into hiding after marriage rumours? Tried contacting her directly", stirred controversy and intensified public scrutiny.

The video has been deleted now, but the family is reportedly gathering evidence for legal action against the YouTuber, who also made further claims about her deteriorating financial situation forcing her to work in a cafe.

Several celebrities from the South Korean entertainment industry attended her funeral, including Won Bin, her co-star from The Man From Nowhere. According to several Korean outlets, Won Bin appeared visibly distraught and paid his last respects by sending a condolence wreath. He was also seen wiping his tears. Actors Kim Bo-ra and Han So-hee also paid their respects.

Kim Sae-ron was found dead at her Seongsu-dong residence on February 16, discovered by a friend. Police reported no signs of forced entry or foul play. The National Office of Investigation later stated the case would be treated as "an unattended death case," presumed to be a suicide.

Kim Sae-ron, known for her work in A Brand New Life and Bloodhounds, faced several controversies. Her career faced challenges following a drunk driving incident in Seoul, where she crashed into a transformer and had her driving license revoked. The incident attracted significant media attention and criticism.
