Razer Barracuda X Gets Chroma Update; To Reach Malaysia In Late November
The Razer Barracuda X was the first in the range to be launched, ahead of the base and Pro model. Continuing the pattern, it looks like the budget model is getting an update ahead of the rest of its family. Now, it comes in a variant called the Barracuda X Chroma, though it sports more upgrades than its name implies.
But to get the obvious out of the way first, yes, the headset now features RGB lighting on the outside, split into six zones on each side. On to the other upgrades, one of them include getting an updated detachable cardioid mic. The company says that this allows the Razer Barracuda X Chroma to have an “improved bass ad high frequency pickup”.
Other changes include getting upgraded from Bluetooth 5.2 to 5.3, though this has unfortunately come at the cost of the 3.5mm audio jack. But for what it’s worth, the battery life of the Barracuda X Chroma now goes up to 70 hours, but with the RGB lighting turned off. Leaving it on only leaves you with 30 hours. All these changes also come with a slightly increased bulk, now weighing 285g over the original 250g.
The Razer Barracuda X Chroma launched in the international market for US$129.99 (~RM565), with a White Edition coming later in the year for the same price. No details on what it costs locally yet, but a brand rep says that it will land on our shores later near the end of November, presumably with the White Edition in tow. Local pricing details will probably be revealed then.
