‘Incredible’: Ambassador of London-based PL club makes Liverpool transfer claim
Michael Dawson has claimed that Liverpool’s transfer business has been ‘incredible’ and they have always been ‘one step ahead’, as he told Sky Sports News (12/02/22 at 12:40 pm).
The Tottenham ambassador added that their latest recruit, Luis Diaz, was ‘sensational’ against Leicester and he thinks he can have a similar impact to Diogo Jota’s at Anfield.
When the Reds signed up Jota from Wolves, it was questioned how he would dethrone the club’s already-solid and firing front three.
Well, it was goal after goal from the bench, including a hat-trick in the Champions League that eventually played a part in him pushing ahead of Roberto Firmino in the pecking order.
Given Diaz’s positive start, Dawson has backed him to do the same, but he applauded how Michael Edwards and co. run the transfer ship on Merseyside.
“Might be Mane on the bench or Firmino (with Diaz arrival),” said Dawson. “That’s what we thought with Jota’s (rise).
“I think the recruitment from Liverpool is incredible. One step ahead. They don’t wait until someone is out of contract. They are already looking towards the future.
“Young talent. What a player he is (Diaz). The other night, he was sensational.
“We said the same with Jota, when he came in, ‘where is he going to play?’. And all we said was, ‘he’s not going to get ahead of the three that are already there’. And he has, so Diaz can be the same.”
The man praised for how well Liverpool have done on the transfer front, both incoming and outgoings, will leave in the summer.
Michael Edwards has played a huge part in the club’s recent success, even if he isn’t front and centre of everything like the players and the manager
When the Englishman departs, he will be a bigger miss than perhaps losing a star player, that’s how invaluable and game-changing he has been.
But, Klopp will still be steering the Liverpool ship and he has always proven to have an eagle eye in the transfer market.
