AC Milan vs. Juventus score: Points shared at San Siro in crucial Serie A matchup

AC Milan vs Juventus score Points shared at San Siro in crucial Serie A matchup
Sunday's scoreless draw didn't help either side much

MILAN -- AC Milan and Juventus settled for a 0-0 draw on Sunday in a crucial Serie A clash, a result that does not leave either team satisfied. AC Milan lost two points for the Scudetto race, after Inter Milan won against Venezia on Saturday. Juventus, on the other hand, do not earn points to get to the Champions League spot. In short no one was happy at San Siro on Sunday night.

The first half began with Juventus trying to control the game, but the Rossoneri found more space in the attacking midfield and had the first real chance of the match after 20 minutes. Rafael Leao, the most dangerous player for AC Milan at this moment of the season, tested Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny for the first save of the match. The hosts were in control, with Juventus failing to create chances.

AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli was forced to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the 28th minute, as the star striker dealt with an ankle injury. He was replaced by Olivier Giroud.

The second half began without changes in the teams, but AC Milan was increasingly in control of the game. AC Milan seemed to struggle to find alternatives to Rafael Leao's speed on the left and Brahim Diaz's individual ideas. Giroud had a nice chance, but missed a header from few steps away. Juventus, who remained in fifth place, had a chance to score the first goal with a header from American midfielder Weston McKennie in the final part of the match, but he failed to impact the ball in the right way and it went wide.

A match that does not have much to say towards the end, with the coaches trying different changes to look for the decisive turning point, which however does not arrive.

In the end it was a draw without a goal and the only smiles Sunday night were on the faces of other Serie A teams battling for the top four. In particular league leaders Inter Milan, who have a four-point gap over AC Mlan with a game in hand.
