Liverpool v Luton Town Premier League latest as Reds look to ...
LEADERS LIVERPOOL SURVIVE EARLY SCARE TO REGAIN FOUR-POINT LEAD
Liverpool restored their four-point lead at the Premier League summit after a commanding 4-1 win over Luton Town.
Jurgen Klopp's side trailed to Chiedozie Ogbene's early strike, but Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo, Luis Diaz and Harvey Elliott were all on target in the second half at Anfield.
Despite a purposeful start, the Reds fell behind in the 12th minute when Ogbene nodded in at the far post after Caoimhin Kelleher parried Tahith Chong’s initial effort.
Although, Liverpool turned the match on its head after the break with two goals in the space of 125 seconds setting them on their way.
First, Van Dijk powered home a header from Alexis Mac Allister’s corner, while the Argentine then provided an inviting cross for Gakpo to nod home.
Diaz got in on the act when he slotted past Thomas Kaminski 19 minutes from time, while Elliott put the icing on the cake with a clinical first-time finish in the dying moments.
