Barça 5-1 Villarreal: Another big win
Barça have put five goals past Villarreal with the same KAROL G logo on their shirts as the men will be wearing next week against Real Madrid. But although it ended up being a comfortable win, for a large part of the game it was far from simple.
Getting the first goal proved quite ba challenge. Villarreal have some very solid defenders and a class goalkeeper and it wasn't until the half hour mark that Claudia Pina finally got on the end of a clearance to fire the blaugrana women into the lead. But a second goal was as hard to find as the first and on one of their few attacks of their own, Villarreal equalised through Jamaica international Kayla McKenna.
This was proving quite a test, and when Alexia Putellas headed onto the bar there was a very real worry that this just might not be Barça's day
But things came good in the end. There was a touch of fortune when substitute Fridolina Rolfö's cross landed in the back of the net and then Alexia was able to make up for her earlier disappointment by stoking home a penalty.
Two goals down, Viallarreal's heads dropped and Salma Paralluelo was able to finish off the job with a couple of goals to ensure Barça stay unbeaten and top of the table in the Liga F.
