BYD Seal Malaysia Priced from RM179800 available in two
BYD Seal official pricing for Malaysia has finally been revealed. With a starting price of RM179,800, would you choose BYD Seal or Tesla Model 3?

BYD Seal has officially launched in Malaysia after more than a year since it was first teased at the BYD Atto 3’s launch back in December 2022. The new fully electric sedan is the third BYD EV offering in Malaysia after the Atto 3 SUV and Dolphin hatchback.

BYD Seal Malaysia pricing, variants, colourways, freebies

As noted before, BYD has provided our market with three BYD Seal variants. However, only two were announced today and this is how much they are priced in Malaysia:

  • BYD Seal Premium: RM179,800
  • BYD Seal Performance: RM199,800

Do note that the pricing above is just for the vehicle alone. Once you consider related fees such as registration, ownership endorsement, base plate, and inspection, the on-the-road (OTR) pricing not inclusive of insurance would be RM180,430 and RM200,430 respectively.

For the Seal Premium, it is available in Atlantis Grey alongside Cosmos Black and Aurora White. As for those who are looking at the Seal Performance, there is also the fourth colour option which is the Arctic Blue.

The first 800 customers that book the new BYD Seal will be provided with a free wallbox charger. In addition to that, they will also receive RM800 EV charging credits for Gentari or ChargEV.

BYD Seal Malaysia quick specs

The Seal Premium features a rear-wheel drive (RWD) setup together with a 230kW (309hp) electric motor that also delivers 360Nm of torque. This allows the Seal Premium to reach 0 to 100km/h in just 5.9 seconds.

Fitted with two electric motors, the Seal Performance which has an all-wheel drive (AWD) configuration is able to deliver a total output of 390kW (523hp). Drivers are being provided with 670Nm of torque and it can go from 0 to 100km/h in just 3.8 seconds.

When it comes to the battery, both Seal Premium and Seal Performance have been equipped with the same 82.56kWh battery pack. However, the Seal Performance has a slightly less range at 520km according to the WLTP standard as opposed to the Seal Premium which can go up to 570km of range.

In terms of charging, both variants can support DC fast charging of up to 150kW which allows them to achieve 30% to 80% in just 18 minutes. However, the onboard AC charger on Seal has a similar capability as per Atto 3 and Dolphin which maxes out at 7kW.
