ASUS Vivobook S 15 OLED with Snapdragon X processor revealed ahead of its launch on May 20
ASUS has revealed details about its first laptop to be powered by the Snapdragon X Elite processor. The ASUS Vivobook S 15 OLED version is slated for launch on May 20 and will join the current model of the laptop that is running on an Intel Meteor Lake-H chipset. The information was contained in an official press release by ASUS. The new laptop is a premium ultra-portable AI notebook and will fully support the latest AI features of ASUS and Microsoft.
The Vivobook S 15 OLED version will likely be unveiled during ASUS’ virtual launch event on May 20, which will be a collaborative engagement between ASUS, Microsoft, and Qualcomm. Microsoft will expectedly announce consumer versions of its Surface Laptop 6 and Surface Pro 10 during the May 20 event.
ASUS says the Vivobook S 15 OLED version is the first new-era ASUS AI PC and it will be a successor to the S 16 OLED. It will provide a personalized AI experience based on the individual needs of the user, according to the company. It has a model number of S5507, with the current Meteor Lake-H processor version of the S 15 OLED having a model number of S5506.
The new ASUS laptop will come with a 16-inch screen and will be larger than current models like the ThinkPad T14s Gen 6, Microsoft Surface Laptop, 6, and a few others that are powered by the same chipset. The ASUS AI PC series lineup of products will also be displayed at the Computex 2024 Taipei Computer Show. ASUS will provide a further update on the upcoming release of the Vivobook S 15 OLED on May 7, as it is yet to provide pricing and availability information for the new laptop.
