Huawei and Alipay sign strategic cooperation to promote one-tap payment
Huawei Devices and Alipay have recently inked a strategic cooperation to promote one-tap payment scenarios. Both parties will mainly focus on improving the payment experience with easier and more convenient features for users.
Alipay is a popular smartphone payment service in China that enables users to make transactions via one tap. Just tap your phone on a merchant’s USB payment device. The feature is compatible with all types of OS(s) including HarmonyOS.
Now Alipay has tied up with Huawei via a strategic cooperation to expand the one-tap payment feature. More users will be able to experience this useful capability.
Under this deal, Huawei will make the Alipay tap compatible for its users through software and hardware changes. Meanwhile, Alipay will raise its investment in the HarmonyOS NEXT app ecosystem. It will add new tools and features to the app.
Both companies will further promote AI services through the payment app. They will strengthen the existing services in the app and bring significant and smarter capabilities. It will allow users to ask queries in various scenarios without interruption.
Huawei and Alipay initially joined hands in December last year to launch the native HarmonyOS app version. Now both parties are further deepening their bond.
Inputs reveal that many Huawei stores across China began launching the Alipay Tap services. The company even plans to initiate member payment as well as digital scenarios next month.
Eric Jing – the CEO and Chairman of Ant Group says:
“Since the cooperation between the two parties last year, Alipay has taken the lead in launching HarmonyOS native applications. Together with HarmonyOS, it has created a convenient, secure, and efficient payment and life service experience for users. Through this strategic cooperation, the two parties will increase the intensity and depth of cooperation in areas such as the HarmonyOS ecosystem and the tap payment ecosystem to serve users well.”
