Acer Predator Helios series specs

As you can probably tell from their model names, the Predator Helios series comes in two different sizes with your choice between 18-inch and 16-inch displays, both in a 16:10 aspect ratio pushing a 2560 x 1600p resolution. The Predator Helios 18 and Helios 16 also offer a MiniLED IPS panel for their respective top spec models, with this panel also capable of a 250Hz refresh rate and 1,00nits of brightness; the other models come with a standard IPS panel pushing a 240Hz refresh rate and 500nits of brightness. The Predator Helios series also feature a 3ms response time and full coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut.

Under the hood, regardless of which model you choose be it the 18 or 16-incher you will get an Intel Core i9-14900HX powering it with 32GB of DDR5 5600MHz RAM as standard across the board as well as 2TB for all of them except the top spec Helios 18, which gets 4TB of storage instead. The cheapest Helios 16 meanwhile comes with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070, with the top spec Helios 18 getting a GeForce RTX 4090; all other models come with an RTX 4080 for graphics.

The backlit RGB keyboard meanwhile has a cool party trick called MagKey 3.0, where you can actually swap out the WASD keys and replace them with two other sets that come in the box. You will also be able to customise the backlit RGB, the Predator logos and the light bar on the top via the PredatorSense app; this app also lets you tune performance settings to your liking. A 90Wh battery meanwhile keeps the lights on.

Other features of note include a 1080p webcam, stereo speakers and support for WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3 wireless connectivity. You’ll also find a 2.5G Ethernet port, a HDMI 2.1 port, a microSD card slot, two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports, two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports, a USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 port and a 3.5mm audio jack.
