João Félix has joined AC Milan on-loan until the end of the season from Chelsea. The 25-year-old only joined the London club last summer in a €52 million deal but he’s not played regularly under Enzo Maresca. Felix has only featured fleetingly for Chelsea in the English Premier League but he netted four goals in five games in the Europa Conference League.
And Chelsea have decided to allow Felix to depart on-loan with AC Milan winning the race for the Portuguese international. There was significant interest from Aston Villa but Felix has joined the Serie A club and was in attendance at the San Siro on Sunday for their derby draw with Inter Milan. Felix was unhappy with his minutes and it’s understood that Milan have a buy-option in the deal.
The former Barcelona and Atletico Madrid star remains contracted at Stamford Bridge until 2030 but it doesn’t appear that he has a long-term future under Maresca. Chelsea have a plethora of talent in attacking areas with Cole Palmer, Jadon Sancho, Pedro Neto and Noni Madueke ahead of Felix in the pecking order.
