Lamborghini Broke Sales, Revenue, And Profit Records In 2023

2023 was the best year on record for Lamborghini, which for the first time sold more than 10,000 vehicles. That helped it rake in €2.66 billion (US$2.89 billion at current exchange rates) in revenue, which is the most money it has ever made in a year, and 12.1 percent more than it managed in 2022.

“Lamborghini continues to break, consistently and in various areas, one record after another,” said Stephan Winkelmann, Lamborghini CEO. “This means that our choices and vision were correct and contributed to the company’s organic growth.”

Lamborghini’s chief financial officer, Paolo Poma, reports that the growing revenue has helped its operating margin increase every year since 2017. In 2023, it recorded another record-breaking figure of 27.3 percent profit, which meant that its operating margin was €723 million (around US$785 million), marking the first time the company has surpassed the €700 million (US$760 million) threshold.

“In 2023 we again recorded unprecedented financial and business performance that positions us as one of the key global luxury players,” said Poma. “Together with a solid order-bank, this allows us to look to the future optimistically and to plan the next steps of our growth over the long term.”

Indeed, Lamborghini is looking forward to 2024, when sales of the new Revuelto will begin. The automaker has indicated that the model’s order books are full for the first two years of production, making the future look bright for it.

“The €723 million operating result together with the 27.2% operating margin are clear signs that the strategy adopted is sound,” said Winkelmann. “This allows us to look to the future and plan for the coming years with new and challenging goals.”

In addition, Lamborghini plans to unveil the plug-in hybrid version of the Urus this year, as well as the followup to the Huracan, both of which are likely to sell in far greater numbers than its V12 hypercar.
